Well at least it was fast. Now we each have a decision to make: do we become part of the problem or part of the solution? No matter who you were voting for, there were nearly as many people voting against you. We can choose to let the division fester, or we can get to work healing the rift. I hope that the new administration will make efforts to reach across the aisle and build unity. I hope that they will likewise reach out to the world and do the same. But if not, we can each decide that WE will do it in our own lives.

If the internet and social media has taught me anything, it is that we can make a difference. It may seem difficult with all the fake content out there, especially when most of it seems determined to increase the division and hatred, but people recognize sincerity. Eventually we all have moments when we feel the need to reach out and connect with others. It is important that we try to build a community that can be there to support and welcome us when we are ready. We need to build momentum until we find that we have created lasting change in our communities. We need to spread cheer!
